Privacy policy

Volta exists to read your riding, not to sell it. This page says what we collect, why, where it lives, and how you get rid of it — in plain language, because a privacy policy you can't read isn't much of a promise.

Who is responsible

voltacoach.app B.V. (KvK 42098549), registered in Hilversum, The Netherlands, is the data controller for everything described here. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

• Your account — email address and name, to sign you in and write to you.
• Your rides — GPS traces, speed, and readings from sensors you choose to pair (heart rate, power, cadence). This is the raw material of your zones; without it there is no coaching.
• What you tell the coach — your goals, how a ride felt, and your conversations with the coach, so it can coach you rather than a stranger.
• Connected services — if you link an account such as Strava, intervals.icu or Whoop, we read the training data you authorise, and only that. Connecting is always your choice and always reversible.

What we do with it

One thing: coach you. Your data derives your zones, your capability, your plan and the coach's words. Coach conversations are processed by an AI provider under contract, limited to providing the service — your data trains no one's models.

What we never do

• We never sell your data, or share it with advertisers. There are no ads.
• We never post to a connected service without you asking for it, per ride.
• We never read more from a connected service than you authorised.

Where it lives

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union. Rides recorded on your phone are kept on the device until they are safely uploaded.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] from your account address and we do it — deletion removes the account and everything attached to it. You can also complain to the Dutch data-protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), though we'd rather you told us first.

Cookies

The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The app uses only what's needed to keep you signed in.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we say so in the app and update the date above — we don't slip changes past you.
