The company behind Volta
Volta is built and operated by voltacoach.app B.V., a Dutch software company registered in Hilversum, the Netherlands. We develop and publish software for cyclists — a coaching app that derives a rider's training zones from their own riding.
The company was founded in 2026 by Jeroen van den Heuvel, a cyclist who wanted a coach rather than another dashboard. Volta is an independent company: no outside investors, no advertising business, and no trade in rider data. The product is funded the old-fashioned way — by the people who use it.
What we make
The Volta app records your rides (or reads them from services you choose to connect), works out what easy and hard mean for you personally, and — when you want to aim at something — plans your training and talks it through with you. It is designed for riders who like riding more than they like training apps.
